The real estate market is frozen currently because of the election run-offs. The trend has been to relocate from Plateau (the old CBD). There is evidence to suggest that for some sectors and in some locations values now may be less than a decade ago. This is a real contrast to most of the region where values are massively in excess of where they were even 5 years ago. This will change if the elections pass off without trouble.

Offices lease for around CFA 9,000 /sq m /month for the best space, and good ex-pat villas for upwards of CFA 1,300,000 /month.
