James Whitmee I arrived yesterday in Ulaanbaatar. I am here doing an appraisal of a villa and office building. It's currently Mongolia's holiday period so apparently I am not experiencing the city's traffic as it is normally. Ulaanbaatar is a linear city because of its location in a valley. You could walk the width of the city quite comfortably and see the hills surrounding it from the centre. In common with other emerging and frontier markets it looks like they went a bit residential development crazy, but now it seems that construction has generally been stopped. There are also a lot of hotels which I don't really understand. Tomorrow I am flying to Hong Kong.
